Leah Matthews

Leah Matthews, MD, MPH is a practicing Pediatrician in Houston, Texas. She is fulfilling her dream of providing quality access to healthcare in a diverse community. When not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. Leah is an avid traveler and loves to explore the culinary creations and libations from around the world. Dr. Matthews is a proud former student of Texas A&M University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Matthews earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. While working as an Assistant Professorof Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Matthews received her Master of Public Health from The University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston. Dr. Matthews’s life’s philosophy can be summarized as: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow! What a ride!’” (Hunter S. Thompson).
